MEKI

MEKI is an industrial X Ray Food Inspection System developed for detecting foreign materials in food products during inline processing. It is used in food factories and packaging lines where product integrity must be verified beyond metal detection alone. The system supports contamination control by identifying high-density and non-metallic objects inside products or packaging. It accommodates a defined inspection size of 250 × 110 mm and operates at controlled conveyor speeds up to 1.3 m/s. MEKI is widely specified for food processing operations across Saudi Arabia.

MEKI is designed to inspect food products using X-ray imaging as they move through a conveyor-based inspection zone. The system identifies internal product anomalies and foreign objects regardless of packaging material, making it suitable for foil-sealed, frozen, or multi-layer packed foods. Inspection results are processed through dedicated software that supports consistent decision logic during continuous operation.

In Saudi production facilities located in Riyadh and Jeddah, MEKI is often installed downstream of sealing machines and upstream of labeling or case packing equipment. Its compact structure allows integration into high-throughput lines without extensive layout changes. The conveyor system operates reliably within standard food factory conditions, including temperature ranges from chilled to ambient environments.

MEKI supports stable inspection at variable belt speeds and maintains accuracy within a fixed detection window. Its controlled radiation output and enclosed design align with operational safety requirements in large KSA food factories and logistics-linked processing hubs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Many Saudi factories process products in foil packaging or complex multi-layer formats. In locations such as Riyadh and Jeddah, X-ray inspection is used to detect non-metal contaminants like glass or stone that traditional metal detectors cannot identify.

MEKI is suited for continuous operation on high-throughput conveyor lines. Saudi plants typically integrate it downstream of sealing equipment, allowing inspection to occur without slowing production or disrupting upstream processes.

The system has a fixed detection window of 250 × 110 mm. Saudi engineering teams assess pack dimensions carefully to ensure products pass centrally through the inspection area, maintaining reliable detection without unnecessary line adjustments.

MEKI is specifically designed to inspect products wrapped in aluminum foil. Unlike metal detectors, foil does not interfere with X-ray imaging, making it suitable for ready meals and sealed trays common in Saudi food production.

During multi-shift operation, Saudi plants typically perform image verification, system health checks, and test piece validation at shift changes. These checks help maintain consistent inspection performance across long production runs.

Inspection results and reject events are logged through the system software. Saudi quality teams review these records during internal audits and regulatory inspections to demonstrate compliance and traceability.
