What is DWS System?

DWS refers to a dimensioning, weighing, and scanning system that captures barcode, dimensions, weight, dimensional/volumetric weight & image which can be used during parcel shipping, warehousing, receiving, distribution, and freight manifesting.

Why Should I Use DWS Systems?

On average measuring a package or item takes around 20 seconds. Cubiscan parcel dimensioners can measure the same item in under a second. That’s 20x faster than by hand.

What Is an Irregular Shape?

An irregular shape is not cuboidal—meaning it is not packed in a square box. Examples include poly bags, cylinders, shipping tubes and unboxed items. iDimension is one of the few dimensioning systems that will accurately measure irregular shapes with Legal for Trade certification.

I Have a Lot of Irregularly Shaped Products, Which CubiScan Is the Correct One for Me?

The Cubiscan 25 and Cubiscan 325 use Infrared technologies that enable the measurement of irregular shape products in static versions, for In-motion DWS systems 200 SQ model can also measure several irregular shape items.

I Need to Capture Additional Information About the Products I Am Measuring, How Do I Do That?

There are 8 additional user-defined fields in the Cubiscan software which can be used for any purpose. These can be made mandatory or optional.

How Many Product Dimensions Can Be Captured in a Day?

This depends on how the product is identified to the machine and what additional information is being captured but as a standard over 400 products are captured in an hour using a manual barcode reader to identify the products for static machine and up to 3500 pph for an In motion DWS with auto barcode reader.

I Want to Take a Picture of the Product That Is Being Measured, How Do I Do That?

By enabling the image capture function in the software we can connect a camera to the laptop/PC connected to the Cubiscan and take an image. This image is stored with the unique identifier (product number/barcode).jpg.

What Are the Certifications Available With CubiScan DWS?

Cubiscan DWS have Legal-for-Trade (LFT) certificate. In some areas of the world, an LFT certificate is required to use a dimensioner to directly charge a customer. An LFT certificate is not necessary if you plan on using your dimensioning system for internal purposes such as shipping and warehousing. Along with LFT certifications, safety certifications are also a must for DWS system and Cubiscan has a safety certificate.
